The town of Cabri is situated in Southwest Saskatchewan, directly north of Gull Lake and north-west of Swift Current. The word “Cabri”, a French word used by the French voyageurs at the time of the fur trade, means “Antelope”. There is a small local airport Cabri Airport.
Cabri is situated near the great sand hills of Saskatchewan.
One of Cabri’s famous citizens was trumpeter Bobby Gimby, who composed and performed Canada’s centennial song “Ca-na-da”.
The Cabri Ferry started operation in 1912, crossing the South Saskatchewan River between what was then the village of Cabri and the town now known as Kyle.
