Bashaw ( /ˈbæʃɔː/) is a town in central Alberta located at the junction of Highway 21 and Highway 53. Formerly one of the most recognizable sources of cheese production in Alberta, the Bashaw cheese plant has been closed since the spring of 2002.
In the 2011 Census, the Town of Bashaw had a population of 873 living in 376 of its 431 total dwellings, a 9.7% change from its 2006 population of 796. With a land area of 2.84 km (1.10 sq mi), it had a population density of 307.4/km (796.1/sq mi) in 2011.
The population of the Town of Bashaw according to its 2007 municipal census is 868.
In 2006, Bashaw had a population of 796 living in 350 dwellings, a -3.5% increase from 2001. The town has a land area of 2.84 km (1.10 sq mi) and a population density of 279.8 /km (725 /sq mi).
